A wander around Great Yarmouth Part One - Fuji X100F

Last week myself and Alex aka @pinholista met up on a typically overcast, slightly chilly afternoon in Great Yarmouth to snap some photos of the scenery. Now Gt. Yarmouth isn’t exactly the most picturesque area in the traditional sense however it is an absolute goldmine for ordinary, industrial and quirky things that you just happen across while exploring the maze of back streets. The sea front is your classic seaside town with scenes straight out of Rob Balls’ Funland series, but just a few steps behind the bright lights of the casinos and amusements there’s a fascinating blend of residential, industrial and commercial. The light wasn’t great but an overcast day makes for nice even light and somewhat suits the photos in my opinion. Oddly enough we were actually treated to a beautiful sunset as we finished our walk, I guess you never know what the skies going to do! In this post I thought I would share the photos I took on my Fuji X100F and do a follow up post when I get the scans back from the rolls I put through the Mamiya.

Enjoy!

All in all a great afternoon for making some photos, I haven’t been on a photo walk with anyone for a while so it was fun to see how someone else interprets the same scene. Alex also has a couple of websites which are well worth checking out, Alex Yates Photography & Alex Yates On Life, if you like all things ordinary with an emphasis on Japan then Alex is your guy!

Til’ the next one,

Larry
